Sumitomo's Pleo OK'd in China
Sumitomo Chemical has received provisional approval for its insecticide, Pleo (pyridalyl), in China. The product is for use against diamondback moths (Plutella xylostella) in cabbages. The company is expecting label expansions "in due course". Pyridalyl was first launched in Japan in 2004 and was approved in India last year. Sumitomo is also seeking EU and US registrations (Agrow No 520, p 18).
