Japan OK due for Syngenta's maize
Syngenta hopes to receive formal Japanese approval by the end of August for its genetically modified corn rootworm-resistant Agrisure RW maize. The approval would cover import for processing and use in food and feed. Registration is awaiting the completion of administrative procedures, following safety clearance from the Japan Food Safety Commission for use in food. The maize already has Ministry of Agriculture safety clearance for use in feed.
