Australian approval decisions

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has recommended the approval of Bayer CropScience's cereal herbicide, Precept (pyrosulfotole + MCPA). It is aimed at the post-emergence control of broadleaf weeds in wheat, barley, oats, rye and triticale. Pyrosulfotole is a new active ingredient to Australia (Agrow No 526, p 27). It received its first global approval in the US last month (Agrow No 526, p 22). The ai has been undergoing a joint review by the authorities in the US, Canada and Australia.
