MEPs urge more agrochemical records

European Commission proposals to record the use of agrochemicals by farmers should be extended to include data from pesticide suppliers and non-agricultural sectors, says Friedrich-Wilhelm Graefe zu Baringdorf, member of the European Parliament's Agriculture Committee. The Commission's proposed regulation on agrochemical statistics forms part of its planned thematic strategy on sustainable pesticide use (Agrow No 500, p 8). Mr Graefe's draft report on the statistics proposals is to be considered by the Committee this month.
