Bayer upbeat for new agriculture economy
Bayer CropScience is increasingly confident that it will benefit from a "silent agricultural revolution". Extra demand for food, feed, fibre and biofuels is a boon to the agrochemical industry but also a challenge, it says. "We expect a continuous growing demand for agricultural products ... and this will benefit ... the crop protection sector," chairman of the board of management Professor Friedrich Berschauer says. Bayer is to maintain its budget plans, but is more bullish on its profit margins.
