Turkey to adopt EU agrochemical rules
Turkey has drafted legislation to bring its pesticide regulations into line with EU law. The Ministry of Agriculture is transforming some agricultural laws, the Turkish crop protection association, the ZIMID, told Agrow. "The main crop protection and quarantine law will be modified ... in compliance with [the] EU," the association's general secretary, Dr Kuntarci, said. The changes to the law will cover measures on pesticide registration and sales. There will also be changes in GAP regulation, he added.
