Cote d'Ivoire boosts agchem supplies for cocoa
The government of Cote d'Ivoire has boosted the supply of pesticides for use on cocoa, the Bloomberg newswire reports. Pesticides are to be applied on 500,000 ha for the 2009/10 season. Some 312,000 ha will be treated against black pod disease ( Phytophthora spp), up from 200,000 ha in 2008/09. The Ministry of Agriculture is to distribute the products.
