Argentine parliamentary meeting to discuss glyphosate ban
An Argentine MP has called for a parliamentary meeting to thrash out the terms for the presentation of draft legislation seeking to ban the herbicide, glyphosate, in Argentina, national media report. Julia Argentina Perie seeks the meeting for August 11th. The intention of the session is that all organisations that are involved in studying the effects of the use of glyphosate take part, national newswire Campodiario reports, citing a local publication, Edicion 4, from the MP’s constituency. The MP’s interest was stoked by the presidential decree signed earlier this year, the newswire notes. Various private and state groups are expected to participate, including the Ministries of Defence, of Health and Sustainable Development, and of Science and Technology.
