EU to appeal against Wynca glyphosate ruling

The EU is to appeal against a court ruling that annulled anti-dumping duties imposed on imports of the herbicide, glyphosate, from the Chinese agrochemical company, Zhejiang Wynca Chemical. The ruling, by the European Court of First Instance in June, was in favour of Wynca, which first complained about the 29.9% duty in 2004 ( Agrow No 571, p 14). The Court said that the EU was in error in denying Wynca's market economy status. However, the EU will lodge an appeal at the European Court of Justice, EU Foreign Ministers confirmed at their meeting in July.
