Complete EU dossier for BASF's new fungicide
BASF's application for EU approval of its new fungicide, ametoctradin, has been recognised as complete by the European Commission. The decision is an early stage in the EU registration process and the dossier will undergo detailed evaluation by the Netherlands as rapporteur member state. The triazolopyrimidine fungicide, which is branded Initium, is for use against late blight ( Phytophthora infestans) and downy mildew ( Agrow No 558, p 21). The active ingredient was submitted under the code name, 650 F, but its ISO name was recently approved ( Agrow No 572, p 23).
