Nufarm's A H Marks purchase cleared in UK
Nufarm’s 2008 acquisition of the UK agrochemical business, A H Marks, has been cleared by the UK Competition Commission. In February, the Commission warned that Nufarm might have to sell the business if it failed to address competition concerns over the phenoxy herbicides, Agritox (MCPA) and Optica (mecoprop-P). Nufarm was required to adopt remedies aimed at facilitating the entry of certain companies into the MCPA and mecroprop-P markets ( Agrow No 562, p 1). Nufarm has fulfilled its obligations and can proceed with the integration of the A H Marks business, the company points out.
