Brazil seeks faster agchem approval process
The Brazilian government is seeking help to implement a faster registration process for pesticides, the national business newspaper, Valor Economico, reports. It is working with national bodies, such as the Ministry of Agriculture’s agricultural research corporation, the Embrapa, and international organisations. The newspaper cites the Ministry’s co-ordinator general for pesticides, Luis Rangel. The agrochemical industry has voiced its concerns on the issue and openly lobbied for a swifter process.
