BASF gets first saflufenacil approvals
BASF has been granted its first approvals for its herbicide, Heat (saflufenacil 70%), in three South American countries. The first came in Nicaragua earlier this year, followed by approvals this month in Chile and Argentina, the company told Agrow. BASF has launched the herbicide in Argentina as a water-dispersible granular formulation for use on citrus and pome fruits, maize, soybeans and peanuts. It is for application with the herbicide, glyphosate, and is “compatible with all [its] forms whether solid or liquid”. Heat is complementary to glyphosate use on broadleaved weeds by accelerating desiccation, BASF says.
