Brazil agchem authorities debate faster approvals
Brazil’s pesticide authorities have called for more integration among themselves in the analysis of pesticides for registration. The call came during a seminar delivered this month by the national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, entitled “Pesticides: regulation, use and control”. It was echoed by representatives from the other competent authorities, the Ministries of the Environment and Agriculture. The call followed reports of moves towards co-operation on registration activities in Brazil ( Agrow No 574, p 22).
