BASF/Bayer in US seed treatment deal

BASF has agreed to supply the fungicidal seed treatment, Coronet (boscalid + pyraclostrobin), to Bayer CropScience’s vegetable seed business, Nunhems, for use on onions in the US. The deal represents BASF’s entry into the vegetable seed treatment sector and the first use of boscalid in a seed treatment, the company points out. Coronet controls a range of seed- and soil-borne pathogens, including Rhizoctonia solani, Botrytis spp, Aspergillus spp and Penicillium spp.
