Brazil Anvisa recommends Rynaxypyr approval
Brazil’s toxicology authority has recommended the approval of DuPont’s insecticide, Rynaxypyr (chlorantraniliprole). The national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, recommendation is subject to a 30-day comment period from August 25th. DuPont aims to market the insecticide as Premio for use on over 20 crops ( Agrow No 561, p 18). The recommendation covers use on 13 crops, including cotton, maize and soybeans. This is the first stage for the active ingredient’s registration. Chlorantraniliprole was granted its first approval in the Philippines in 2007 ( Agrow No 534, p 5), and was registered in the US and Canada last year ( Agrow No 543, p 22).
