Sipcam leads calls for cyhexatin use on Brazilian citrus
The Brazilian joint venture, Sipcam Isagro Brasil, has called for the continued use of the acaricide, cyhexatin, in Brazil for use on citrus fruit under new restrictions. The call came among many other requests for the acarcide to remain registered for use on citrus fruit against flat mites ( Brevipalpus phoenicis). The Ministry of Health’s national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, banned the active ingredient in June “with immediate effect” ( Agrow No 570, p 1), and opened a comment period for the month of August. It allowed continued use only on citrus fruit against flat mites until November 2011 in Sao Paulo state.
