Australian fee details by year end
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) expects to issue details of its new funding arrangements by the end of this year. Last year, the APVMA proposed a sharp rise in pesticide registration fees and a cut in the sales levy ( Agrow No 558, p 18). It had expected to implement the scheme this year, but it was delayed by an extended review ( Agrow No 568, p 21). The final cost recovery impact statement was expected in August but this has since been pushed back to late 2009. The APVMA still plans to introduce revised application fees three months after government approval, with other changes effective from July 1st 2010.
