BASF/Monsanto cotton seed treatment deal
BASF has agreed to supply its fungicide, pyraclostrobin, to Monsanto for use as a seed treatment on genetically modified cotton lines. The fungicide will be a component of Monsanto’s Acceleron seed treatment range ( Agrow No 552, p 22). BASF agreed to supply the fungicide for use on GM soybeans last year ( Agrow No 547, p 1). BASF received the first US approvals for its pyraclostrobin-based seed treatment, Stamina, in 2008 ( Agrow No 538, p 22).
