Sipcam raises presence in China and Japan
Sipcam-Oxon has set up a Chinese joint venture, based in Shanghai, with a “local investor”. The new company is Sipcam Agro China. Sipcam group managing director Giovanni Affaba has welcomed the move, saying it provides the company a “direct presence” in the Chinese agrochemical market. “We expect to receive more than 30 registrations within the next two years,” he adds. Sipcam has also opened an office in Tokyo, Japan. Former director of international business for Mitsui Chemical Agro Dr Toshimi Tanaka will represent the company in Japan. Sipcam seeks to gain deals with Japanese companies to export their pesticides, says company president Nadia Gagliardini.
