Brazil OKs 3 GM maize lines
Brazil provisionally approved for commercialisation three genetically modified maize products in September. The national technical commission for biosafety, the CTNBio, gave the green light to two Syngenta Seeds maize lines: one for an unidentified insect-resistant maize event; the other for its insect-resistant and glyphosate-tolerant Bt11xGA21 maize. It also granted approval to Monsanto’s insect-resistant and glyphosate-tolerant MON810xNK603 maize. Each of the applications received 15 votes in favour to four against.
