Bayer to debut LibertyLink soybeans in Canada
Bayer CropScience plans to introduce its genetically modified glufosinate-tolerant LibertyLink soybeans in Canada in 2010. A limited supply of LibertyLink varieties will be made available to growers in Ontario and Quebec. The use of the herbicide, Liberty (glufosinate-ammonium), on GM soybeans provides a resistance management tool for glyphosate, the company points out. US seed companies were expected to introduce LibertyLink soybeans on some 400,000 ha this year ( Agrow No 559, p 21).
