Brazil OKs emergency use for spiromesifen
Brazil has granted a one-year emergency use authorisation for products based on Bayer CropScience’s insecticide/acaricide, spiromesifen. The approval is for use on palm trees to control red palm mites ( Raoiella indica). The active ingredient is already approved for use on beans, cotton, melons and tomatoes as a foliar application. The 12-month approval runs from the Ministry of Agriculture’s issuing of the approval in the official gazette on September 21st.
