Syngenta opens ST lab in Brazil
Syngenta has opened a seed treatment laboratory in Brazil. The company installed the Seed Care Institute in Holambra, in Sao Paulo state earlier this month to “maximise the synergy with its experimental station in the city and seed treatment manufacturing plant in Paulinia”. Syngenta says that the laboratory is unique in Latin America. It will be used to “monitor and improve” seed treatments for use on beans, small-grain cereals, cotton, maize, soybeans, sunflowers and vegetables. The company has spent $2.5 million on the unit. Work on building the laboratory started last year.
