EU votes for Annex I listing of cyflufenamid
Nippon Soda's fungicide, cyflufenamid, has been cleared for full EU approval and addition to Annex I of the EU agrochemical registration Directive (91/414). The decision was agreed by the EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health in October and will go forward for formal adoption by the European Commission. Nippon Soda supplies cyflufenamid for use on a wide range of crops in Europe through several partners: Certis Europe, Efthymiadis, Sipcam-Oxon, Spiess Urania and Syngenta ( Agrow No 556, p 22). The application for EU approval was submitted in 2003. The ai's first EU launch was through Certis in 2005, for use on cereals in the UK.
