Container disposal accelerates in Brazil
Recycling and disposal of empty pesticide containers surpassed 20,000 tonnes in the first nine months of 2009. The total of 21,694 tonnes was a 14% rise on the same period last year. That shows that growth is climbing. Recycling by the three-quarter year stage in 2008 was up by 13% on 2007, and that year by 11% on 2006. Some 27,000 tonnes were collected in the 12 months to September 30th, Brazil's pesticide container disposal organisation, the inpEV, says. It expects to collect and dispose of 28,000 tonnes in 2009.
