Delayed agchem purchasing trend in Brazil state
Most Brazilian farmers are delaying pesticide buying until the last minute, the Brazilian state of Goias farmers’ federation, the FAEG, says. It notes that purchases for use in the 2009/10 planting season started in earnest in the second half of September, and increased during October. Demand has mainly been directed towards products for use on soybeans, reflecting the increased planting for that crop. Brazil’s crop area is flat this year, with soybeans bucking the general dip in planting among other crops ( Agrow No 578, p 22).
