EU ecotox assessments examined

Endocrine disruption and bees feature prominently in comments on the European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) proposed revisions to guidance on agrochemical assessments for aquatic and terrestrial ecotoxicology. The comments were made in response to an EFSA consultation held in 2008 ( Agrow No 557, p 8). Among the wide-ranging topics covered, several comments mentioned that the revision should take account of the new EU agrochemical registration Regulation (1107/2009) , which is due to be implemented in 2011 (see this issue).
