Canada reviews chlormequat chloride
The Canadian Pest Management Agency has proposed the continued registration of the plant growth regulator, chlormequat chloride, subject to certain label amendments. The review was based on the US EPA’s 2007 re-registration eligibility decision ( Agrow No 533, p 15). Chlormequat chloride is used on winter wheat and ornamentals. The PMRA’s proposed label changes include a 12-hour restricted entry interval and a 1 m buffer zone to protect sensitive terrestrial habitats. The decision is subject to a 45-day public comment period from November 30th.
