Metazachlor purity levels amended in EU Annex I

The authorised purity levels of the herbicide, metazachlor, have been adjusted by the European Commission. The maximum level for toluene as a manufacturing impurity has been changed from 0.01% to 0.05% in metazachlor’s listing in Annex I of the EU agrochemical registration Directive (91/414). The change was requested by the notifying companies and has been assessed as not causing any risk, the Commission says. Metazachlor was re-registered and added to Annex I in August 2009 ( Agrow No 559, p 9), supported by BASF and Makhteshim-Agan Industries.
