China looks to further cooperation with SE Asia on pesticide trade

China's pesticide sales to Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) countries increased an average of 10% a year between 2001 and 2005, reaching a total value of $370 million, or 22.8% of its total pesticide exports. Although the increase stopped in 2006, Wang Yunhao, director of the Pesticide Inspection Department in China's Agriculture Ministry, said China is looking to further increase pesticide trade with ASEAN countries.
