New methods recommended to assess safety of nanomaterials in cosmetics

In a preliminary opinion issued June 26, the European Commission's Scientific Committee on Consumer Products has found that traditional risk assessment methods may not be suitable for nanomaterials in cosmetics and either new assessment methods should be developed or current methods should be validated.
