New toxics subcommittee created in Senate with EPW reshuffle
The Democratic chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee has reorganized its structure, creating new subcommittees for toxics, oversight and children's health. Of main interest to toxic chemical stakeholders is the creation of a new Subcommittee on Superfund, Toxics and Environmental Health. Chairing the panel is Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D–N.J.) — a vocal advocate of revamping federal chemicals policy and overhauling TSCA.
