Dow posts strong second quarter
Strong agrochemical sales contributed to a 24.7% rise in Dow AgroSciences’ revenues to $1,360 million in the second quarter of 2008. Sales of new cereal and rice herbicides were up “sharply”, while the insecticide, spinetoram, continued its successful launch in the US, the company points out. The insecticide was introduced as Delegate WG and Radiant SC for use on a range of fruit and vegetable crops ( Agrow No 530, p 22). Dow’s pasture and rangeland herbicide, aminopyralid, was also a significant contributor to second-quarter results.
