New Zealand shifts pesticide review priorities
The New Zealand Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) proposes a revised schedule of pesticides for re-evaluation to take effect from July 1st 2010. The new priority list of nearly 40 active ingredients has been drawn up on the basis of hazards and exposure. The list of 20 review candidates established in 2007 ( Agrow No 517, p 18) was based on a hazard assessment. While the new list may exclude high-risk ais with minor use, the ERMA believes it to be “a more complete and meaningful list”.
