Fungicides boosted US market in 2008
A doubling of fungicide sales on maize and soybeans contributed to an 8.4% rise in the value of the US crop protection market to $6,585 million, according to data from UK consultants Phillips McDougall. Fungicide sales increased by 44.5% to $913 million, accounting for about 14% of the total market. Sales of the largest category, herbicides, rose by 6% to $4,150 million, making up 63% of the total. Insecticide sales remained flat.
