Lonza acquires Scotts France’s olfactant
Swiss chemical company Lonza (Basel) has acquired the olfactive ingredient, VPAM, from French company Scotts France (Ecully) for use as an additive in slug and snail baits in home and garden products. The olfactant is used to prevent domestic animals from picking up pellets. Lonza will market VPAM under its own trademark. It will recommend to all its customers using its Meta brand molluscicidal products to incorporate the olfactant into their formulations. The acquisition of VPAM includes an extended data package, which Lonza intends to further develop in the future.
