Dow ArgoSciences gains in fourth quarter
Organic growth and acquisitions resulted in a 6.1% increase in sales to $864 million for Dow AgroSciences in the fourth quarter of 2007. Volumes were up by 2% and prices by 4%, with price rises seen in all major geographic regions. The business recorded double-digit volume gains in Latin America and it also saw improvements in Europe and the Asia/Pacific region. The gains in these regions more than offset a decline in North America where there was a shift in sales to the third quarter (Agrow No 531, p 4).
