Sumitomo's agrochemicals gain overseas
Firm sales in overseas markets helped Sumitomo Chemical's agrochemical revenues reach ¥52,606 million ($1,304 million) in the year to March 31st 2007, up by 7.3% on the previous year. The company highlights sales of the herbicide, flumioxazin, in the Americas. Growth in exports offset lower sales in the Japanese market, which was hit by weak demand. The domestic decline was due mainly to lower sales of fungicides, such as the rice blast product, Delaus (diclocymet), Sumitomo says.
