Brazil agchem market crosses $12 bn in 2014
The Brazilian agrochemical market rose by an estimated 6% in 2014 to some $12.2 billion. The national agrochemical industry trade association, the Sindiveg, has revealed early estimates. The industry had expected 9% growth, according to Agrolink newswire. A recovery in harvests in North America, high agricultural commodity stock levels and a prolonged drought in the country impacted business. There was lower insect pest pressure than in 2013, although the segment saw its share of sales rise from 42% to 45%.
