EU use restrictions proposed for triclopyr
Proposals to impose maximum application rates for the herbicide, triclopyr, have been voted through by the EU Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed. The European Commission has proposed amendments to the active ingredient’s EU approval to only allow uses with a total application per year of a maximum of 480 g ai/ha. The change follows assessment of additional data required under the conditions of the ai’s original approval. It requires formal adoption by the Commission before coming into force.
