Monsanto/FMC extend agchem promotion deal
Monsanto and FMC have extended their US herbicide promotion deal to include FMC's insecticide, Hero (zeta-cypermethrin + bifenthrin). It is a broad-spectrum product for use on maize, soybeans, cotton and more than 80 other crops. The Roundup Ready Plus Crop Management Solutions platform was renamed and extended for the 2015 season. The scheme was launched in 2010 in collaboration with FMC, Sumitomo Chemical subsidiary Valent USA Corporation and Makhteshim-Agan Industries (now Adama Agricultural Solutions) to encourage the use of alternative products to control glyphosate-resistant weeds. It now covers pest and disease control. A range of FMC's sulfentrazone-based Authority brand herbicides continue to be endorsed under the scheme.
