Syngenta to debut Clariva pn for US sugar beet
Syngenta is to introduce its Pasteuria nishizawae-based bionematicide seed treatment, Clariva pn, on select nematode-tolerant sugar beet varieties in the US this year. It will be offered to growers in areas with high nematode pressure along with several new Hilleshög brand varieties to provide season-long protection from sugar beet cyst nematodes. The product can be used in conjunction with the insecticide/fungicide seed treatment, CruiserMaxx Sugarbeets, for triple protection against seedling diseases, insects and beet cyst nematodes, the company points out. CruiserMaxx Sugarbeets is a combination of the separately registered products, Cruiser 5FS (thiamethoxam), Apron XL (metalaxyl-M) and Maxim 4FS (fludioxonil), which was introduced in 2011. Syngenta launched Clariva in combination with thiamethoxam, sedaxane, fludioxonil and metalaxyl-M as Clariva Complete Beans last year.
