Sumitomo debuts insecticide mix in Singapore
Sumitomo Chemical has launched the combination pyrethroid insecticide, SumiPro, for the control of mosquitoes and flies in Singapore. It is a combination of SumiOne (metofluthrin) and Gokilaht S (cyphenothrin). The company plans to supply the product mainly in South-East Asia for the control of dengue and other insect-borne diseases. SumiPro is a water-based formulation, which is more cost effective and environmentally benign that oil-based products, the company points out. Sumitomo has used proprietary formulation technology to minimise the evaporation of spray droplets, which usually occurs with water-based space sprays in hot locations.
