Gowan gains US approval for Zing! fungicide

The US agrochemical company, Gowan (Yuma, Arizona), has received US approval for a combination fungicide based on established active ingredients. Zing! (zoxamide + chlorothalonil)  has been registered for use on potatoes, tomatoes, cucurbits and onions. It controls early blight (Alternaria solani), late blight (Phytophthora infestans), anthracnose (Colletotrichum spp) and downy mildews. Zing! combines the multisite activity of chlorothalonil with the synergistic effectiveness of zoxamide to provide enhanced disease control and defend against resistance, Gowan points out.
