Old pesticides collected in Canadian province
Farmers in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan handed in nearly 94 tonnes of obsolete or unwanted pesticides during the latest collection by the industry's CleanFarms organisation. Collections were carried out in southern Saskatchewan during October 2014. That was the fourth time that a collection had been conducted in the province. The last time the programme was operated in northern Saskatchewan was in 2011 when 60 tonnes of pesticides were collected. Another collection in northern Saskatchewan will be carried out this autumn.
