ECPA urges risk-based ED criteria

The European Crop Protection Association (ECPA) says that criteria to identify endocrine disruptors (EDs) should evaluate active ingredients based on risk assessment, considering hazard and exposure. The European Food Safety Authority reached the same conclusion in 2013, but “this important policy option” has been omitted from the alternatives in the European Commission’s public consultation on EDs, the ECPA says. Its comments are made in its submission to the consultation, which closed this month.
