Brazilian agchem container recycling up 6% in 2014
Brazil raised its collection, disposal and recycling of empty pesticide containers by 6% in 2014 to 42,645 tonnes, the recycling organisation, the inpEV, reports. That takes the cumulative recycling and disposal since it initiated its operations in 2002 to over 300,000 tonnes. Major states that have pioneered the collections of old containers are either reaching saturation points or struggling to increase their records, while small states saw major advances last year. At least seven states saw growth of a quarter or more in 2014. The six principal states accounted for over 70% of collections, of which only two increased results by over 10%.
