Certis Europe acquires maltodextrin insecticides
Mitsui & Co agrochemical distribution company Certis Europe has agreed with UK-based soft chemical company Bio-D (Sutton Fields, Kingston upon Hull) to acquire the outstanding global formulation rights and all other associated technology and know-how for the maltodextrin-based insecticides/acaricides, Eradicoat and Eradicoat T. The two companies have a long-standing relationship during which Certis developed and registered Eradicoat in a number of countries where it is used to control whiteflies and red spider mites in high-value specialty crops. “This acquisition allows Certis to further invest in development and registration of Eradicoat and to extend its use to include key markets in southern Europe and Africa, while continuing to work to expand uses and crops in UK, Benelux and Scandinavia,” says Certis Europe’s head of portfolio, Jennifer Lewis.
