FMC agchems down 8% in Q4
Reduced sales in Brazil contributed to a 7.5% decline in FMC's agrochemical revenues to $626.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2014. That was mainly due to a reduction in cotton acreage, continued dry conditions impacting the sugar cane sector and higher-than-normal channel inventories, the company points out. However, it saw increased penetration of the soybean market. A fall in sales of low-margin, third-party products helped to improve operating profit.
